Skyler came out of her room looking stressed, her notebook clutched tightly in her hands. She dropped onto the couch beside me, her knee brushing mine. The way her blonde hair fell messily around her face gave her an unintentional charm, but the tension in her expression caught my attention. I knew she had been struggling with her classes, but I hadn’t expected her to come to me for help. Her body language shifted as she sat closer, and there was an air of hesitation, almost as if she were weighing her next move carefully. I didn’t press her to speak. Instead, I glanced at the notes she was holding. My thoughts raced as the moment stretched between us. Her gaze stayed fixed on me, and I realized she wasn’t simply asking for academic help - there was something unspoken in the way she lingered. The tension between us was palpable. I agreed to help, gathering my own focus to guide her through the material. We settled into the living room, sitting on the floor with books scattered around us. As I explained concepts, her attention remained fixed on me - not just on my words, but on me. The proximity, the subtle brush of her hand as she reached for a pen, and the occasional glance she cast my way built a quiet intensity that was hard to ignore. When we finally finished, the room was silent except for our breaths. The shift in the air was unmistakable as she leaned closer, her intent clear.
